Full Day Personalised Family on an Animal Sculpture (9th Aug)

Sunday 9th Aug at 10am till 4pm 

You will be given easy to follow, step-by-step instructions on how to create a ceramic sculpture of an animal with your own family or friends on top. We will use the slab building technique to create the majority of this piece. 

Possible animals include:

• cow
• dog
• cat
• elephant
• whale
• pig
• sheep

If you have a particular animal in mind that we haven't suggested, please contact us to see if your idea is possible.  

We will have a break half way through to stop for some lunch, so bring your own packed lunch. We may eat outside if the weather is suitable.

You will colour your sculpture on the day using underglazes. Once your piece has been bisque fired we will add a stain and a glaze to your sculpture and then fire once more. 

Your pieces can then be collected roughly 3-4 weeks later. 

Classes are run with no more than 12 people at a time.

• All clay and materials.
• We will add a stain and glaze the eyes.
• Bisque and a glaze firing.
• Tea and coffee throughout the day.

Suitable for complete beginners and people with previous experience.

Our workshop is wheelchair accessible. 

The session will be delivered by a tutor with over 30 years teaching experience in our rural studio here at Fairfield Farm, Singleton, Lancs, UK.
